Turn on automatic delivery tracking

Once this is on, your Orders tab automatically shows Delivered, Returned to origin, or Delivery failed instead of a static "Shipped" — no more checking Shiprocket separately to know what actually happened to an order.

Setup

Five steps, one-time

  1. 1

    Copy your URL and Token

On CheckoutDM's Courier settings page, once Shiprocket is connected, you'll see a "Delivery status tracking" box with a URL and a Token in it. Tap Copy on each — you'll need both in a moment.

  2. 2

Open Shiprocket → Settings → API

Log in to your Shiprocket account and go to Settings, then API, from the left-hand menu.

  3. 3

    Select Webhook

Under the API section, choose the Webhook tab — this is where Shiprocket lets you register a URL to be notified about shipment status changes.

  4. 4

Paste the URL, set the token type, paste the Token, and save

Paste the URL you copied into Shiprocket's URL field. Set Auth Token Type to x-api-key. Paste the Token you copied into the Token field. Then save — that's the entire setup.

  5. 5

    You're done

From your next shipment onward, Shiprocket will notify CheckoutDM automatically the moment a status changes — Delivered, Returned to origin, or Delivery failed will start showing on your Orders tab in place of a plain "Shipped".

Good to know

A few things worth knowing

  • • Shiprocket's "Test Webhook" button may say the test isn't allowed — that's a limitation on Shiprocket's side, not an error with your URL. Just Save; the webhook still fires normally on real shipment updates.
  • • The URL is the same for every CheckoutDM store — what's unique to your store is the Token. Don't share your Token, and don't paste it into a different Shiprocket account.
  • • On Growth and Pro, if a status update ever doesn't come through automatically, CheckoutDM also double-checks any order that's been shipped for more than a day or two. On Starter, this relies on Shiprocket's webhook firing correctly — there's no automatic double-check (yet).
  • • This is available on Starter, Growth, and Pro plans — if you're on Free, your Orders tab keeps showing "Shipped" as it does today.
  • • Turning this on is also what lets CheckoutDM automatically schedule a reverse pickup with the courier the moment a return is approved on a delivered order — without it, that return just waits until CheckoutDM can otherwise confirm delivery.
  • • You only need to do this once per Shiprocket account — it keeps working for every future order automatically.
If you ever disconnect and reconnect Shiprocket, you don't need to redo this step — your tracking URL stays the same.
